The podcast is back, bitches
It all started in January last year and wow, that genuinely feels like a lifetime ago.
The podcast I’d been developing for months finally launched. And that podcast was called 13 Reasons To Try. I had three episodes ready to go and the very naive mindset of “I can just record and edit the rest as I go along”.
Spoiler, I definitely couldn’t. But why?
Well. I got sick. Like, really sick. Everything and I mean everything had to go on hold. And yes, that included the podcast. Cue the tiny violin sound effect. At the time, it felt brutal. I’d finally put something into the world that mattered so much to me, and then I had to quietly step away from it without any neat explanation or tidy ending. It just… stopped.
But good news, I am still “Alive & Kicking”. Fellow nineties kids will understand that reference immediately, that show had an absolute choke hold on me. And even better news, the podcast is finally ready to come back.
Lessons have very much been learned this time around. Second chances and all that. I will not be recording and editing as I go. Everything is being recorded and edited in advance for the full season. Calm, organised and responsible. Who am I?
We’ve got incredible guests, lots of me yapping as always and yes, that catchy empowering theme tune is still very much here. But she’s had a little glow up. The branding has been fully updated. No more Miss Piggy having a mental breakdown. We are leaving her in the past with love.
Instead, we are leaning into inner tigress energy. Think fierce manicure. Think confident, grounded and unbothered. It is iconic, trust me, and it really sets the tone for what this relaunch is all about.
As much as I did not want to be in hospital or completely miss last summer, at least something good came out of it. Right?
Because 13 Reasons To Try is back.
Wiser. Stronger. And very much ready to try, again.
